I've been thinkin of this too, but planned to try as Open Source...Anyway, promotting and teaching "web performance" to Domino community is always welcome, according to me. And providing gzip compression, if done well, can be a great enhancement !

You plan to use DSAPI for that ?

Maybe a mixed (free basic open source version / commercial full one) could help promote this type of product, otherwise, I think too little of us (the domino dev community) are aware of what TREMENDOUS acceleration gzip can provide.
